Board Meeting - 7/31/2014

MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SERRANO WATER DISTRICT 

The Board of Directors of Serrano Water District met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, July 31, 2014. The meeting was held at the Serrano Water District office located at 18021 Lincoln Street, Villa Park, California. 

CALL TO ORDER:  President Rickerl called the meeting to order at 3:15 p.m.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Director Haight requested that that the actual reserves be placed on the District’s website and that the “A” rating report that the District received from the Orange County Grand Jury be moved under the “transparency tab” with the label “grand jury.” 

RESOLUTION NO. 2014-08-01 DECLARING A LEVEL I WATER SUPPLY SHORTAGE CONDITION WITHIN THE DISTRICT’S SERVICE AREA PURSUANT TO THE DISTRICT’S WATER CONSERVATION & WATER SUPPLY SHORTAGE PROGRAM

Following discussion, it was moved (Director Pharris), seconded (Director Freschi), and unanimously carried with Directors Bryant, Freschi, Rickerl, Pharris and Haight voting yes to approve Resolution No. 2014-08-01 as presented.  The Conservation Committee will meet next week to review the pamphlet regarding the water conservation resolution that will be mailed to residents immediately following the meeting.  

AB-1234 ETHICS TRAINING FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS - JOEL KUPERBERG

Attorney Kuperberg provided AB-1234 ethics training for the Board of Directors and General Manager Vilander.

 The closed session agenda item was not addressed as it had been reviewed previously in the SWD Recreation, Inc. meeting immediately preceding.

The meeting was formally adjourned at 5:45 p.m.  The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 @ 8:30 a.m. at the District office.
